
Why should I bother with Twitter? How is this going to help my network marketing? It won’t….at first. You have to give before you get. The ratio is close to give 90% and get 10%. But that 10% can be very big. You want to give your followers quality content. This sounds like a broken record if you read any other articles of mine, but it is true of any Social Network sites. You have to give people a reason to come back to you or even listen to you in the first place. Share your experiences and knowledge with your followers.
Do not be afraid that someone will take your ideas and make them work and become a competitor. I thought that same way, but it just doesn’t happen. As you know it takes a lot of dedication and effort to master the many facets of the Social Networking. Do not assume that everyone is better than you. Share freely and do not be afraid.
How can you be a good tweep? You become a good tweep by adding to the community. Your knowledge or share other’s information to your followers. All this giving does not mean you can’t sell on Twitter. Just like any selling you need to follow the AIDA formula: Attention; Interest; Desire; Action. You need to get the attention of your followers. That is why you give so much. So when you do need to sell you will have their attention just from habit – in their mind you always give good content. Interest may be the key to it all. If you do not create interest through your 140 character tweet then the rest is out the window. That is not a lot of words to get your followers interested in what you have to select the link you have attached. Desire and action will be on the website that are connect to the link in the tweet. Three of the four parts of the AIDA formula are not in the tweet itself. All your energy should be channeled on Interest and the rest will follow.
Remember the other part of selling WIIFM (What’s In It For Me). Your tweet should hint at this for your followers. Help them see this and they will beat a path to your door. Show a hint of benefit for good measure. You have spent the time to develop the relationship so now you just need their attention long enough to show them a benefit that will help them make money or be thinner, etc what ever your opportunity is.
Here is the readers digest plan to build a good following, help others and prepare your followers for future sales. Start by spending 15 to 30 minutes a day on Twitter asking questions, retweeting good information or quotes and responding to DMs. When you find someone good to follow check out his or her followers. Go through and add about 100 of their followers a day. Do this for a month and you will build your followers quickly. Unfollow those that do not follow you back after a couple of days. You should be tweeting good information. I tweet quotes and information on Network and Affiliate Marketing. These are good first steps to help you make money and build your downline on Twitter.
