From Professional To Network Marketer; Day 5: Contact And Converting Your Leads

Well congratulation!  You have turned on your marketing campaign and people have responded to it and have joined your email list and want to know more about it.  That is the next step in your transition from professional to network marketer.  Now the hardest part of the business is that time after they OptIn and the time they join you team.  You thought you could just sit back and the leads would flow in and be converted into sales.  It is not going to be that easy.  You should feel good that your marketing is working.  You are getting people to raise their hand and OptIn to your program.  Now the real work begins; you must contact and convert them.
Your first lead call will be the hardest one.  You have all the fears you could think of: they will laugh at me, they won’t like what I offer or me, they will think I’m dumb or don’t know what I am doing.  That last one may be right, at first, but all the others are just you projecting your fears onto the lead.  Through it all pick up the phone and call them.  You need to think back to how you felt when you started.  You were sitting there at your computer looking for something that would work and bring in extra income.  You wanted to believe the advertising and so you filled out the form and hit submit.  You did not wait for the information to be mailed to you.  The website had all the information you needed to get started and that is what you did. The lead has all the fears and doubts now that you had but may be not the same motivation or drive.  They are waiting for someone to reach out to them and help through this period. That is want your call will be for them.  You will reinforce their confidence that will help them to success.  But it is more than likely that they will laugh at you or think you are dumb.  The numbers say that most will still not be ready for what you have to say.  That is when you say next. You need to go through all your leads.  Contacting them is the number one way you will convert your leads into sales.
Contacting your leads is also the first step in converting your lead into a sale.  Let’s face it, you may have a great product or service but unless you have a sale it means nothing.  You are saying to yourself, “I didn’t need someone to contact me and convert me.”  That is why you are a leader; you saw the potential and went for it.  Your lead needs some help.  Your call will begin your relationship that will help them succeed.  Making contact with your lead you can show them how it all works and more importantly that the website has a real person behind it.  The first call will go a long way towards helping them through this period.  Your call will strengthen the relationship and trust that started on the website.  By providing training, support and sharing ideas with them you are helping to build a strong downline.  You do not want to beg them to join your opportunity on the contrary you are interviewing them to join your team.  You want someone who knows the meaning of work and will do it. Pick people who are ready to start working.  By offering value (support & training), building a relationship and trust you will convert a lead into a sale or rep.
The secret to success in network marketing is not a secret: it is picking up the phone and start building a relationship.  The sooner you start building that relationship the soon you will realize success in your business.  You need a team for that success and that is why you contact all your leads and either bring them into your opportunity or you move on to the next one.
