
What are keywords? Keywords are words or phrases that people on the Internet use to search for product or services or other information. You go to Google looking for information or a product and you type in words that Google will use to find the information for you. The words you type in are keywords. They can be one word or they can be a phrase. Google or other search engines will return search results that are ranked by relevancy.
How do you find good keywords? That is a great question. The answer to which is still being looked for today. Finding keywords is an acquired skill. You will you the trial and error method to narrow your list down. You start off with any idea for keywords and some tools. There are several tools that you can use. Google Keyword search is a free service. Another is WordTracker’s FreeKeywords search tool. Wordtracker also has a paid service that gives more information and allows you to save your searches. What you are trying to do is determine what your potential customer would type into a search bar. Then position your information on your product or services with those keywords so the search engines find your keywords and match it with the searchers request and display. As you use keywords you will find that some perform better than others. You want to take those successful keywords (or money keywords) and drill down deeper for related keywords or more specific keywords. The number of keywords is very important. One-word keywords will have a lot of competition, other marketers looking for the same word. The more words, also called a long tail keywords, the more specific the search and the lower the competition. For example: “Golf” is a very broad keyword and will return a lot of pages (309,000,000 pages), not very likely that someone will see your article or video; “Golf clubs” is better, more specific and less competition (37,600,000 pages); “Wood Golf Clubs” is more specific (1,810,000 ages). As you can see the more specific the keywords the less competition and more likely you can reach the first page of Google, which we all know is where the action is.
How do you use keywords in your online business? Once you find good money keywords you use them in your article, video, titles and blogs. Anywhere you have a description or information that the search engines are going to look over and index. The search engines are looking for relevant keywords in your content that you are using on your website (title, subtitles, copy, etc), articles (title, subtitles, copy, etc ) and videos (title, descriptions). This is also called organic searches. You are making your content visible as possible with keywords that users of the search engines are looking for. Optimizing your existing content is the first step in getting a real business return from your investment in keyword research. Many people stop here and don’t realize how profitable using keywords in other ways can be. Keywords should be in your title of your website, any sub-titles, categories and page names. They should also be used in your copy on the website. These are all hooks that the search engines will use to find relevant information for their users.
No one will we join your network marketing opportunity if they can’t find it. Keywords are the connections that your content makes with the search engines. They are any word or words but money keywords are ones that users of Google, Yahoo or Bing are using to find information they are looking for. Use tools such as Google Keyword Search or WordTracker’s FreeKeyword Search because they are free. Keep track of your keywords so you can identify which words are working to attract traffic. Once you have those words use them in your title, sub-title and copy in your website, article, blogs or videos. A word of caution: you can and will be penalized for using the keywords too many times in your content. You want good keyword density that reads well and does not have a keyword every other word. The keywords should appear naturally.
