Making a switch from a 9 to 5 job to a MLM business can seem challenging but there a few simple steps that you need to do to establish your presence both on and offline. Whether you are doing this full or part time, these steps will help your business.

Get a domain name. In fact you will want to own several domain names. You can do this at many places and it is very easy. Godaddy.com is a great place to research them and buy them. You do not need all the bells and whistles that they will push at you. A standard package will work just fine. You want to try to have a domain name that includes the keyword you are going to try to rank on Google for. If you were using MLM training, you would search for available domains that contain those words (i.e. mlmtrainingcenter.com or mlmtrainingdirect.com).
Once you have your domain name you need to host it somewhere. All that means is you need a internet company with servers that will store your domain and give you an address that will link your domain to the Internet. You can get a basic package for about $9 per month for a company like HostGator. Don’t worry if you do not know how to set it up right away that will come with time and necessity. This is a site that has hundreds and thousand of webmasters and other tech skills you can use to set-up your hosting site, email & website/blog.
Once you have your domain hosted you can create your blog. You may have a site from your MLM Company but this is not how you are going to brand yourself. Most of these sites are static and they let you change the picture or add a video. The search engines know this and will not rank it very high. You need a site that you can control and post unique content that can point back to your company site. You want the ability to collect names and email addresses for your own list. A blog can help your MLM business in ways you will discover as you grow in this business.
You want to create an email with your domain, but you will need an additional one. The first email is your branded business email. Use this on your advertising, website, & business cards. The other email will be a Gmail account and will allow you to use all the tools that Google has to offer. You also want to use this one when you sign up for various sites for information or traffic sites. This will cut down spam to your business email.
The same reason you want two emails you want two phone numbers. There will be people you want to have direct access to you with your direct line or cell phone. This could be your downline and important consultants. But vendors you may want to filter with a phone service that you can screen before you answer. Having a 2nd line will make the transition to an answering service for when you grow larger. There are many online services where you can get your phone service. You can even get your own 800 number for less than $10 per month up to $25 per with services that will forward calls to you or anyone else you chose.
Business cards are still a great way to brand you. If you have done everything previously mentioned in this article then you can list it on your business card. Get many of them and hand them out. They only work when you give them out or drop them where people will see it. I have seen many a businessperson who has hundreds of business cards in their office older than 6 months. If you have them give them out. They’re cheap advertising.

This is your business so treat it like one. You need a presence both online and offline. You do that with a domain names based on a money keyword; hosting it on a server of your choosing that you control; creating your blog to get your message out which will link back to you MLM opportunity; provide access through your email and telephone numbers and don’t forget your business card to hand out to everyone you know and talk to. All these steps will get your brand out for people to see.
