MLM Training: 3 Tips I Learned From My Children |

Your MLM training may include your children if you stop and think about it. My children are really quite amazing when I stop and think about. I work at home and at times it seems that they do not care that Dad is working to make their life better. But often times they have a lesson for my MLM business and me if I stop and think about it of a minute or two. Three lessons that I recently noted were patience, coloring inside the lines and “Do overs”

Patience: This can actually be one of the hardest lessons to learn. We all want everything in our life to happen right now. When it doesn’t, we will quickly move on to the next big idea and do it all over again. My children will stick with something until they have master a task or a game. I notice thing with my two sons. They were playing a video game. They had to get passed some kind of monster or other to win the level. They tried 15 to 20 different routes and tricks to destroy the monster. It took them 20 to 30 minutes doing the same thing over and over again with slight variations. They succeed in the end and went to the next level. I would have given up after the 10 minutes. That is like your marketing. You have to get passed the monster to get your leads to opt-in, click or join your MLM opportunity. You may have to try 15 to 20 or more different types of copy or headlines until you find what your target market trigger is.
Its Ok to color outside the lines. I love this one. You sit down and color a drawing with your children and you are doing a beautiful job of coloring the different parts of the pictures – perfectly within the lines. You look over at your children’s picture and it is a mess of color that hardly stays on the page let alone within the lines. Next time that happens to you and you try to tell them to color within the lines, imagine your brand as that picture. There are hundreds if not thousands of people who are trying to Brand themselves also and you are competing against them. If your marketing message is similar to line coloring within the lines, how are you different from everyone else out there? Break out from the lines on the paper and let everyone know you and accentuate your differences.
It’s ok to have a do over. Everyone should have this taped to his or her computer. You watch your children play a game, it doesn’t even matter which game, and at some point one of them will lose a piece or make a wrong move and they will quickly shout “Do Over”. Invariably an argument will ensue. But the idea of a do over is great when thinking about your marketing campaign. In the earlier part of your MLM business you will try marketing that will produce nothing. It seems like throwing money away. Its not! You are trying different campaigns to see what moves your target market to action. You can’t know that the begining. Marketing is about putting your message out there and tweaking it until it works. Be prepared to tweak the message many times. You can get help from training systems but that will only be a guide you need to develop the your own message and that takes a lot of “Do Overs”.

Here I have talked about only three things I have learned, but the amazing thing is I learn something everyday from my children. Branding yourself will require patience, coloring outside the lines and “Do Overs”. But stick with it and you will succeed. If you have children and you have not experienced any of these lessons, I suggest you stop what you are doing and go play with them before they are gone. Yes, you are working to make a better life for them but your dream life is not a destination but it is journey and your family is traveling it with you.
