When my wife and I were first married she joined Mary Kay and started to sell the products. I was an architect and wanted nothing to do with MLM. I have since learned the difference. Anyway, she was always listening to tapes about attitudes and belief. The focus was on mindset and always had little quotes to remember. I can remember a quote that I use today, 18 years later. “Fake Until You Make It”. I have put together a few memorable quotes to share with you.
- Fake until you make it. We always want to be genuine with our prospects, but this quote has more to do with your mindset. You have to believe you are a leader for others to know you are one. Napoleon Hill said “What ever the mind can conceive…. it will achieve.” So stop thinking you can’t do it or you can’t do it as well as a top earner. You can’t do it like them because you are different which is good thing. Accentuate your differences. Believe you can and you will.
- A good goal is like a strenuous exercise – it makes you stretch. A great quote for when you are making your goals. Your goals should move you out of your comfort zone. It should be tough to achieve that is how you know you are stretching to achieve them. If you always walk the same distance everyday your body would adjust and it would become comfortable with the level of exercise. But is won’t get better. You need to push farther than your comfort zone to improve.
- A mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will go further than a great idea that inspires no one. A mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will go further than a great idea that inspires no one. At first this seems like a strange quote, but it refers getting your idea that you believe in out into the world. So many people wait a round for that one great idea. “If I only had a great idea I would be famous or rich”. It doesn’t take a great idea to make it in this world, just an idea that you believe in. Help others see that it is a great idea. Present your idea with enthusiasm. Your excitement will attract others to you. Don’t wait but act to create your future.
- If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can’t, you’re right. This harkens back to Napoleon Hill. Your mind sets your course for your life. You can direct your mind. Start thinking you can do things instead of the other way around.
- You can have anything in this world you want, if you want it badly enough and you’re willing to pay the price. This is a long phrase for hard work. It takes hard work to make it in this industry. There are no free rides. But if you never quit you can never fail. That is a powerful statement (which I did not come up with). If you are willing to do what ever it takes and work hard and long enough you will succeed. Desire and heart is what it takes to get what you want.
Mary Kay understood MLM training. She focused on the person’s mindset and belief in ones self. She and the company believe that you need to get the woman to believe in her success and it will happen. As a MLM marketer you can take these quotes and apply them to your business. Change you attitude and you will change your life.
