Starting any MLM training you will be learning new things. Writing articles or blogs, making videos, sending out email autoresponders and buying more training. There are plenty of areas to make mistakes. Most will be in the comfort of your home, but some will be exposed to the world. Here are three big mistakes I have made and you should watch out. They include links in articles, formatting your email autoresponders and purchasing new training.
- Test your links before you publish your articles. You want to have links in your articles that the reader can click to learn more about you or your MLM opportunity. Test your links before you upload them. Let me tell you there is nothing more frustrating then to finish writing your article and uploading it only to discover that you have the wrong link or it is broken. Not to long ago, I finished a good article on article writing. As I usually do I spun the article and uploaded it to a variety of article sites. In my resource box I had a link back to my MLM Opportunity. In my rush to finish, so many things to do, I missed a letter in the link and it would not work. So I have an article on over 100 different article sites with a link that if clicked on will bring readers to the “Page Not Found”. OK, OK we are delivering value but if someone wants to learn more about me then I want them to be able to find me very easily. This goes for your blog and anything you write and send out.
- Test your Autoresponder messages before you send out your emails. You spend a considerable amount of time building your list. You develop your relationship with your list by sending them either a newsletter or tip of the week. Something they can use in their business. Of course you will work on the main messages that your list gets. You will Proofread and correct your newsletter emails before you upload the set to your Autoresponder. But there will be times when you want to send out an offer or announcement of a webinar to your list. That is where you will make your mistakes. I know I have. I have sent out emails to my list that the link is broken or the little text code that allows the first name to be merged with the email is spelled wrong. You do not show much leadership when you send out a thousand emails addressed to ~FRISTNAME~. You lose people on your list not to mention the emails you get back about how their name is not ~FIRSTNAME~.
- Buying a program twice. I know this is just plain stupid but have you ever purchased a program twice. OK, I am the only one that has done that. I spend a lot of money on different trainings. My philosophy is if I learn one thing that save me 10 minutes a day or brings 10 more people to my site then it is worth the money. Because I make more money everyday but time is gone forever. I have quite a few programs in my library that I go to when I need any idea for an article or review something I learned in past. This does demonstrate how important good copy is if it can compel you buy a product twice. To prevent this mistake in the future and to be organized (New Years Resolution) I have a list of all the programs I have purchased and where they are stored. See most of them are on my computer and you know what a mess that can be.
While you are going through your MLM training you will make mistakes. It happens don’t beat yourself up over it. Just learn from each mistake and move on. Here are a couple of tips that you already know but bear repeating. Always proofread anything that leaves your computer, check all your links before you upload or publish anything and keep track of your purchased material. This will save time, money and embarrassment. Above all remember a leader is not perfect they practice two things: they learn form their mistakes and they don’t let the mistakes slow them down.
