Congratulation, you have signed up a new sponsor for your MLM home based business. Know that they will most likely quit within the next 30 to 60 days.
I was coaching my 7-year old son’s basketball team. We played a game and 3 of the players on the court were standing there on the court watching the other players run around them and score. These players did great in practice but couldn’t function on the court. After the game I asked them what was wrong and they said they forgot what to do.
That is exactly how the people who join your MLM business team will feel. The excitement of opportunity will fade away after 24 to 48 hours and they will not know what to do. The task ahead can be overwhelming. What are you going to do about it?
You need to provide training and an action plan for them. In the best possible world this is provided by your MLM Company; if not you will need to develop it. The quicker you get money in their pocket the more likely they will succeed. You have given them the idea that they can succeed in this business. They do not have that brief firmly set in their mind. Providing them an action plan on what they need to do to start is critical.
Develop a step-by-step action plan that they can follow. You want to make it as easy as you can. All home-based MLM businesses are different but here are some basic action steps you can have your new sponsor work on
- Purchase a domain name
- Purchase hosting for their domain
- Install a blog for the domain (Branding)
- Sign-up for an Autoresponder (Opt-in to newsletter)
- Write 5 to 10 articles for the blog before launching
- Marketing training
Yes these sound incredibly basic but for someone just starting out it looks like an elephant. Your job after signing them up is helping them eat the elephant one piece at a time. You could write an article about each part or better yet make a video about and make it available to them.
They are looking to you for mentoring. You have to see them as more than a month residual income or you won’t have any income in the end. You are developing a relationship with them and that is a long-term effort. Having weekly or bi-monthly Webinars is a great to stay connected with your team. This gives a voice to someone who has not met you face to face. Give them the opportunity to ask those questions that are keeping them form success.
Your role changes as you sign-up people to your MLM Home Based Business opportunity. You start out as a salesperson but quickly move to coach and mentor. How you mentor your team will determine your success and theirs. Prepare yourself for success with support materials for your new team members. In the first 30 days you want to help them get money in their pocket that’s is how they will succeed
